Shutters Small Surface, Big Effect
Faded shutters age a whole house; crisp ones sharpen every window on it. We take shutters down, spray them to a factory-smooth finish, and rehang them on fresh hardware — usually as the finishing move of a full exterior repaint.

Shutters exist to frame windows, and they only work when their color is deep and their finish is even. The problem is that shutter pigment — especially the dark reds, greens, blues, and blacks people choose — takes the worst of the sun. A set of shutters that started rich burgundy fades to chalky pink in a decade, and because manufacturers discontinue colors and profiles constantly, replacing one damaged shutter usually means it won't match its neighbors. Refinishing the whole set solves both problems at once.
In Southeast Michigan, shutters also live through the same freeze-thaw cycling as everything else on the wall — vinyl gets brittle, cedar weathers gray and works its fasteners loose, and any coating that can't flex pops off at the louvers first. - 2Wash and scuffChalking and mildew get washed off, and glossy or previously coated surfaces get scuff-sanded. On shutters, adhesion problems show fast — a small part flexing in the wind finds every weak bond.
- 3Repair and refitLoose louvers get re-secured, cedar shutters get sanded and spot-primed where they've weathered bare, and corroded clips, spacers, and screws are replaced rather than reused.

What Drives the Cost
Count and size
Shutter work prices by the set — a colonial with fourteen pairs is a different job than a ranch with four. Panel size and louver detail also affect spray and prep time.
Removable or not
Shutters that come off get a better finish with less masking. Ones that are permanently fastened have to be detailed in place, which is slower and shapes the approach.
Material
